Collector orders suspension of extension officers
West Godavari district Collector K Bhaskar has directed the district Panchayat Officer to suspend the extension officers of Panchayat Raj Department (EOPRDs) of Eluru, Undrajavaram and Veeravasaram for their failure in completing dumping yards in villages. He also ordered the officials to suspend 15 Panchayat Secretaries for their negligence in constructing the dumping yards.
Eluru: West Godavari district Collector K Bhaskar has directed the district Panchayat Officer to suspend the extension officers of Panchayat Raj Department (EOPRDs) of Eluru, Undrajavaram and Veeravasaram for their failure in completing dumping yards in villages. He also ordered the officials to suspend 15 Panchayat Secretaries for their negligence in constructing the dumping yards.
The Collector reviewed the Panchayats progress including dumping yards and tax collection at a meeting held in Collectorate on Friday.
Addressing the meeting, the Collector expressed his dissatisfaction over the negligence of the panchayat officials while discharging their duties. “I am asking all of you to construct the dumping yards over the last three years repeatedly. In spite of that, so far the officials concerned failed to construct the yards in 15 villages,” the Collector stated. He questioned the officials over reluctance in taking up the dumping yards construction.
The Collector directed the officials to collect the house and other taxes in Panchayats. He questioned them for not reaching targets of the current financial year in the villages. He directed them to take up repairs of swiping machines in the villages. District Panchayati officer Mullapudi Venkata Ramana and other officials participated.
