babuHyderabad: Telugu Desam celebrated the 32nd formation day of the party across the state on Friday. Party president N Chandrababu Naidu who is in Peddapudi in East Godavari district as part of his Vastunna Meekosam walkathon unfurled the party flag, garlanded the statute of founder president N T Rama Rao and then cut a 32kg cake. Later Naidu felicitated senior party leaders like Y Ramakrishnudu, G Butchaiah Chowdary, N Moola Reddy, Metla Satyanarayana, N Chinna Rajappa and others who have been with the party from the beginning. Addressing the party activists, Naidu narrated the sufferings of the people in the state under the Congress regime and called upon the rank and file to gear up the party for the General Elections. He called upon the cadre to see that TDP comes back to power. He also distributed sarees to poor women. He said TDP was not a power hungry party but ruled the state as a trusty. He said if the YSRCP came to power it would ruin the state. The TDP alone could give a clean and efficient government, he added. In Hyderabad at the party headquarters, senior leader Peddi Reddy unfurled the party flag. TDP MLAs, who are on dharna at Old MLA quarters, opposing the hike in power tariff, were not in a position to celebrate the event. TDP cadres across the state conducted blood donation camps and distributed fruits, clothes and food to the poor people on this occasion. Earlier, party leaders visited NTR Ghat and paid tributes to the founder president. In Karimnagar, Warangal, Nizamabad and Khammam districts party leaders garlanded NTRs statue, recalled his services and the various welfare measures he had introduced in the state as well as the administrative reforms he had brought during his tenure as Chief Minister. Party leader M Murali Mohan recalled the ideology of NTR and called upon the cadre to rededicate themselves to bringing the party back to power. In Krishna district, party workers washed NTRs statue with milk.
