Bhadrachalam (Khammam): Coronation of Lord Rama was celebrated amidst pomp and gaiety here on Saturday the day after the celestial marriage was performed here.
It has been a tradition for ages to organize the coronation of Lord Rama as King of Ayodhya.State Governor Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan attended the coronation.
The priests conducted special puja for Ashwa and Gaja vahanams and brought the sacred water from five rivers in the country for the coronation. Lord Rama was decorated with a golden crown. Announcing the coronation, the idols were decorated with Chatram, Chamaram, Khadgam. Coronation was first conducted here in 1987 and later after 12 years in 1999 called first Pushkara coronation. The second Pushkara coronation was conducted in 2011 and since then, coronation has been conducted every year.
District in-charge minister Ramreddy Venkat Reddy, Warangal Range IG Venkateswara Rao, DIG Vikram Singh Mann, SP Raghunath, District Collector Siddhartha Jain and others participated.
