trs1Narsampet (Warangal): A team of TRS leaders led by party floor leader in the Assembly, Etela Rajender, on Sunday visited the villages in Gudur mandal in the district, where iron ore deposits were found. The visit came in the wake of the controversy surrounding allocation of iron mines in Warangal and Khammam districts to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by the State government.

The TRS delegation also visited Bayyaram forest area in Khammam district. MLAs Kaveti Sammaiah, Dr T Rajaiah, M Bishapathi, Koppula Eashwar and Nallala Odelu, and MLCs Swamy Goud and Sudhakar Reddy were among the team.

The team visited Kongiragidda, Nelavancha, D Timmapuram in Gudur mandal and later visited Bayyaram forest areas. Rajender asserted that not a single piece of iron ore would be allowed to be transported to VSP. He said they would involve local tribals in their struggle to protect the mineral wealth of the region.
