The dream of becoming a police officer remained unfulfilled Twenty-four year-old Amruta Ravi Kumar had nursed an ambition to become a police officer. It remained unfulfilled with his sudden demise due to the twin bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar on February 21. Hailed from a small village Begumpet of Kamanpur mandal in Karimnagar district, Ravi Kumar wanted to become a police officer. His father Amruta Komaraiah, labourer of Singareni Collieries, died when he was very young. He is the youngest of the three brothers and two sisters of the family Ravi Kumar was the darling of the house. He studied up to tenth class in his native place and completed Intermediate at Peddapalli. He completed the graduation in Karimnagar and shifted to Hyderabad to complete MBA.However, his ambition to become a police officer had taken over him. He had appeared for the physical test and after getting through it, had also appeared for the written test. On the fateful day, he along with his classmate TIrupati had gone to meet his childhood friend Banoth Ramesh who is staying at Dilsukhnagar. After a brief chat, the three friends had gone to a tea stall to sip a cup of tea. The sudden blast had taken them off the ground. Tirupati died on the spot and Ravi Kumar sustained grievous injuries. However, Ramesh escaped the wrath of the bomb with minor scratches. Ravi Kumar had been rushed to Yashoda hospital and the two brothers along with their mother reached the hospital. The two brothers said that they could not even talk to the injured brother who was in coma. The pellets from the bomb embedded in the body parts of Ravi Kumar and caused his death. After fighting with the death for 13 days, Ravi Kumar had finally succumbed to the injuries.The direct witness and childhood friend of Ravi Kumar, Banoth Ramesh cried looking at the body of his dear friend on the pyre on Wednesday. Ramesh said that he had invited Ravi Kumar top his home just before his death. Ravi Kumar's other childhood friends Nagelli Sravan, J Srinivas, Madasu Satish, Sanjiv and other friends recalled the memories of their departed friend. Ravi's brother Nagamallu is working in Singareni Collieries and other brother is a lecturer in a private college.
