Srilakshmi granted interim bail

Hyderabad: In a major relief to the ailing IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, the CBI principal special court on Saturday granted her interim bail. The bail would be in force until further orders. However, the court directed Srilakhsmi not to leave Hyderabad without prior permission from the court. The court also directed the petitioner to furnish two sureties each for Rs 2 lakh and surrender her passport to the court. Accepting the report given by the Osmania Medical Board, the principal special judge U Durga Prasad opined that the petitioner's health condition may deteriorate if she was detained in prison any further. Srilakshmi was arrested by the CBI in connection with the illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company- owned by Gali Janardhana Reddy. Earlier, the interim bail granted to Srilakshmi to undergo spinal surgery ended on March 21.
