Hyderabad: Angry over not accepting the demand to ban the telecast of dubbed serials, the agitating Telugu television artistes on Friday attacked the MAA TV office at Madhapur here. The TV artistes and technicians, who were staging a protest demonstration in front of the office, suddenly pelted stones damaging the glass façade and some vehicle parked on the premises. Tension prevailed as the security guards made a vain bid to obstruct the protestors.

The Telugu TV Parishrama Parirakshna Samithi JAC has been fighting against the telecast of dubbed serials in the city. Majority of channels accepted their demand to stop the telecast of dubbed serials from Ugadi after conducing demonstrations in front of the TV channel offices last week.

With no assurance coming from MAA TV management on their demand, the artistes rushed to the office in two cars and held demonstration at office. The emotionally charged protestors went berserk causing damage to the premises and vehicles parked there in.

Soon after the attack, one of the MAA TV promoter Allu Arvind reached the office. Strongly condemning the attack , he said it will take some time to stop the telecast of dubbed serials because the business interests of the channel will affect badly once the telecast was stopped suddenly.A MAA TV Director Ramakrishna said the management was ready to solve the issue in a peaceful way. A complaint has been lodged with the local police on the attack on his office.

Meanwhile, the JAC leader A Prasad also condemned the attack and said that the attack was not the handiwork of the artistes, who were fighting for their demands. Some unscrupulous elements might have resorted to violence to dilute the struggle. The JAC has been fighting in a peaceful way and it will continue in the same manner.
