amb2Vijayawada : Telugu Desam Party legislator from Avanigadda in Krishna district Ambati Brahmanaiah died after a prolonged illness in a private hospital in Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday. He was 73. He is survived by three daughters and a son. His body was brought to his native village Vakkapatlavaripalem of Nagayalanka mandal in Krishna district.

A large number of Telugu Desam Party leaders led by party chief N Chandrababu Naidu went to his native village and paid rich tributes to the departed soul. Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh also paid homage to Brahmanaiah. Chandrababu Naidu, who was touring Visakhapatnam, reached Gannavaram airport by a special flight and had gone to Vakkapatlavaripalem village by road. Brahmanaiah was elected to the Assembly for the first time in 1994 from Machilipatnam Assembly segment.

He was then elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004 from Machilipatnam parliamentary constituency. In 2009 elections, he was elected to the Assembly from Avanigadda segment defeating Mandali Buddha Prasad of the Congress. Meanwhile, Brahmanaiah's body was taken to the party district office here where the leaders paid rich tributes to the departed soul.

Party district unit chief Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, senior leaders Kesineni Nani, Dhulipala Narendra, Varla Ramaiah, K Nagul Meera, Budda Venkanna, Thumati Premanath, legislators Tangirala Prabhakar, Sriram Rajagopal, Boppana Raghavendra Rao and a number of senior leaders, party workers paid tributes to him at the party office.A Later, the body was taken to his native village where it was kept for the party workers from the district to visit and pay last respects.
