Due to low pressure area in Bay of Bengal, heavy rains lashed several districts in the state disrupting normal life. Low lying areas were flooded as the rivulets were in spate on Friday. In Khammam district an old woman died as her house collapsed. As heavy rains lashed several parts of Adilabad district on Friday, streams in different mandals began flowing dangerously. Hyderabad: Due to low pressure area in Bay of Bengal, heavy rains lashed several districts in the state disrupting normal life. Low lying areas were flooded as the rivulets were in spate on Friday. In Khammam district an old woman died as her house collapsed. As heavy rains lashed several parts of Adilabad district on Friday, streams in different mandals began flowing dangerously. In Vankidi mandal, Chikli stream was in spate and the flood water cut road link to about 20 villages


Incessant rain threw normal life out of gear at various places in Khammam district. Chekupalli stream was flowing above the normal level disrupting vehicular movement in 25 villages in Wajedu mandal. The irrigation officials released water from Kinnerasani project by lifting 26 gates as it was brimming at the seams. An elderly woman was killed when her house collapsed due to rain at Chokkala village in Venkatapuram mandal. In Kurnool district, several rivulets including Kundu were in spate disrupting normal life in Nandyal division. In Nandyal town, Kundu water was overflowing on the bridge and several low lying areas in the town were inundated.

The flood waters entered even municipal office and RTC depot. As Teluguganga canal and paler rivulet were overflowing, the temple town of Mahanandi was cut off from the rest of the district. In Nalgonda district, as Musi River was in spate, roads were flooded at several places cutting off several villages from the district. As several tanks breached, flood waters entered in low lying areas in Nakrekal, Suryapet, Kodada and Miryalaguda towns. While the district received a rain fall of 42 mm, Kattangoor received 157 mm of rain.


Heavy rains have been lashing Kadapa district since Thursday night indundating several places in the city. Rain water flooded the Chinna Chowk police station in the town Most of the streets including the main roads were flooded causing a lot of misery to pedestrians as well as vehicle drivers.
