Predicting that the general elections would be held in March, 2014, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday called upon the rank and file of the party to gear up for the polls.
Speaking at the Medho Madhana Sadassu (brainstorming session) for the leaders from Seemandhra region, at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Friday, he said that the time to discard the Congress party was fast approaching. Just 100 days were left to dump the Congress and hence it was time to launch a massive campaign to expose the unbridled corruption and its vote-bank politics at the cost of the interests of the people. Congress, he said, had ruined the country during its ten years rule.
Naidu said, according to available indications, the election schedule would be announced in the first week of March and the poll would be held during third week of April.
Referring to the recent survey conducted by India Today, Naidu said that a strong anti-Congress wave was there across the country and the ruling party cannot even dream of coming back to power again.
Lashing out at the Congress for its unilateral decision to divide the State, Naidu alleged that the ruling party was dividing the state for narrow political gains. He accused the TRS and YSRCP of having colluded with the Congress. The YSR Congress and TRS leaders were dancing to the tune of AICC President Sonia Gandhi. The YSRC Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy came out of the jail after the two parties arrived at a secret political understanding. Jagan and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao had no stature to talk about ethics and morals in politics, he flayed.
