PM Assures Justice to Seemandhra, delegation of six Union Minister, Issue on Seemandhra Region. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday assured a delegation of six Union Ministers belonging to the Seemandhra region that justice would be done to the region during the bifurcation process. Emerging from the meeting, Minister of State for Commerce D Purandeshwari said, “the Prime Minister has inspired confidence in us that justice will be done to the people of Seemandhra.” She said the Prime Minister gave them a patient hearing. Asked whether the issue of their resignations being accepted was raised, she said the issue did not figure
Others among the delegation were Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi, Textiles Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju, Minister of State for Finance J D Seelam and Minister of State for Railways Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy.
The Union Ministers told the PM that the issues relating to Hyderabad, watersharing and children’s future, owing to shrinking prospects for education and employment, created a feeling of uncertainty and insecurity among the people of Seemandhra region.
They had earlier met the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana and submitted detailed views on each of the terms of references of the GoM. They had also met Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily and Finance Minister P Chidambaram, the other key members of the GoM, and represented to them about the plight of the region.
