The TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who recently demanded expulsion of senior leader P Keshav from the party for filing a case in the Supreme Court alleging the Centre had not followed due constitutional process while deciding to divide the State, on Friday turned his ire towards MP C M Ramesh.

The Rajya sabha MP is a senior TD leader and a close confidant of president N Chandrababu Naidu. Ramesh filed a petition in the court seeking direction to the Government that the State’s division can’t be done without amending the Article 371-D. Upset, Rao accused Ramesh of going against the party line. He wanted Naidu to expel the MP from the party. He said the TDP has suffered for sending Ramesh, a “contractor” to the upper House. ‘Ramesh has damaged the party’s reputation, he alleged. He said Ramesh who could never get elected even as a ward member was sent to the Rajya Sabha. He should know that Telangana MLAs who had voted for him and were regretting. Rao wanted Naidu to convene a meeting to ensure that party leaders did not go against its line on Telangana issue. Reacting to the allegations, Ramesh said that Rao could not understand legal issues as he was not educated. He had approached the court seeking a direction on Article 371-D, which came into effect after a constitutional amendment. Since the State was going to be divided there was need to amend the constitution.
