Trippin' on music

The Red Bull Tour Bus took off its southern leg of its national tour with a housefull gig at the BITS Pilani Campus on Thursday.

The gig was one of its kinds in India. The bus took the people by storm, the moment it transformed into a complete fully decked sound stage which catered to two bands belonging to a varied set of brackets. The first band to perform on stage was Bengaluru’s four piece new age band called Low Rhyders.

The hip-hop crew from Bengaluru consisting of Main-E-Yak, Xstasy Sash, Charles Dickinson and king Jassim, belted out all tracks pertaining to the latest genres like DubStep, DnB, Reggae and Dancehall to name a few.

The audience were awestruck by the bus, as it had everything that was required for an awesome experience. When the bus is not stationary with loud music blasting out of it, it has a gaming console, a flat screen TV, a mini work station, bunk beds with hardwood floors and equipment storage area. Give the bus a couple of hours and it turns from a vehicle to a custom made mobile rock stage.

For the gig, the second band that took the stage was Dualist Inquiry Band, a brainchild of New Delhi based musician and producer, Sahej Bakshi. The Dualist Inquiry prides itself in being a live electronic act consisting of fellow musicians like Sanaya ‘Sandunes’ Ardeshir and Jivraj ‘Jiver’ Singh. They have a panache for recreating live music and further tweaking and tuning the sounds.

And just to keep the awe of the audience away from the glory of the Red bull Tour Bus the bands meted out some really awesome tracks. The Low Rhyderz shelled out songs like “Mi Lady”, “Life In a Ghetto” while the band, Dualist Inquiry band played songs like “Specter”.
