Nitty-Gritty of Creating New State, Officials of the Central government, Bifurcating a State. Political skullduggery has been on an unprecedented scale. The turns and twists taken by the political parties in view of the fast approaching general elections in 2014 are making things murkier.
The Telangana project being propelled by Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been encountering a series of difficulties. While the political opposition from many quarters, including her own party, is the main hurdle, the resolution passed by the Congress Working Committee has elements that have the potential to undermine the project. Providing a special status to Hyderabad, for instance, is going to be a challenging proposition. There are many ifs and buts. Legal and administrative questions have been bothering the top officials of the Central government.
