Women Safety Campaign from Tomorrow, Women Safety Fortnight. Tirupurana Venkataratnam, chairperson for Commission, said issues like Women’s rights, child marriage, dowry system, women and children trafficking, political and social empowerment, etc, would be discussed during the programme.
Hyderabad: AP State Commission for Women will organise a 15-day programme - ‘Women Safety Fortnight’ from November 25, which will focus on various women issues, empowerment, legislation and enforcement.
Tirupurana Venkataratnam, chairperson for Commission, said issues like Women’s rights, child marriage, dowry system, women and children trafficking, political and social empowerment, etc, would be discussed during the programme.
The decision to launch the campaign was taken keeping in view of the recent rise in incidents of crimes against women all over the country. Fact is that, in many parts of the country, it has become difficult for women or girls to come out of their houses.
