Although gom minister and the seemandhr ministers except the chiefminister are unanimously saying that Hyderabad shall be made a Union Territory, if at all the state has to be divided, the UPA Government is in the process of proceeding with its formulation of making Hyderabad a common capital.

Congress General Secretary in-charge of state affairs Digvijay Singh said that the common capital issue with regard to Hyderabad can be worked out within the framework of the Constitution today.

Digvijay spoke to media after meeting the members of GoM at chairman AK Antony's residence.
That the common capital can be brought into being within the framework of Constitution. He said that the Union Law Ministry is working on it now.
Having limited time bound, members of the GOM on AP bifurcation met informally at the residence of chairman AK Antony and discussed how to proceed on the contentious issues, including the status of Hyderabad. The meeting was attended by GoM members and Union ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde, P.Chidambaram and Narayana Sami.
