KCR dharna brought all T forces under a single roof and intensified the agitation: Kodandaram
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Telangana JAC on Friday resolved to re-dedicate themselves for the reconstruction of the Telangana State post bifurcation and fight for Krishna waters.
Participating in ‘Deeksha Diwas’ organised to mark the fourth anniversary of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s ‘fast unto death’, at Indira Park here, the JAC Chairman Kodandaram said that no force could stall the formation of Telangana at this juncture.
He felt that KCR’s Deeksha was a milestone in the history of Telangana movement. “The TRS leader’s dharna brought all T forces under a single roof and intensified the separate State’s movement since then,” he said.
Party secretary general K Keshava Rao said that the Telangana protagonists and people were ready to sacrifice again for the reconstruction of Telangana. “KCR’s Deeksha in November 2009 forced the Centre to announce its decision to carve out Telangana a month later.
It was because of the TRS party’s struggle the Centre was forced to take a final decision and put the process of bifurcation into motion,” he added. Rao asked the Telangana Congress leaders to counter the Seemandhra Congress leaders who were strongly opposing the State’s bifurcation and prove their sincerity before taking credit for T struggle.
TRS leader K Tarakarama Rao said the protracted struggle for Telangana had not only brought to the fore the aspirations of the people of T region but also safeguarded the culture and tradition of Telangana which were under threat of extinction under the rule of Seemandhra leaders.
Ruling out the possibility of merger with Congress after T State was formed, he said the TRS would play a pivotal role in the development of new State by involving all stakeholders.
Strongly opposing the Brijesh Kumar tribunal verdict on sharing of Krishna waters, KTR said his party would approach Supreme Court against the judgment after the T state was formed and will fight till the State interests were protected.
