Bring acid attacks under Nirbhaya Act, demands BJP

Hyderabad: Acid attack incidents should be brought under Nirbhaya Act and persons responsible for such acts should get stringent punishment, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy said. He charged governments at State and Centre of neglecting victims of acid attacks.

The BJP supremo distributed Rs 50,000 each to four acid attack victims at a programme held at party office on Sunday. Party NRI cell convenor, Vasudhara, identified the victims (three from New Delhi and one from Karnataka) and ensured that they got some financial assistance from the saffron party.

Pro-and ant - T slogans raised

A delegation from Samaikya Andhra Sadhana party visited BJP office on Sunday afternoon to give a representation to BJP president G Kishan Reddy for keeping the State united. Members of the 10-member delegation shouted ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’ slogans for a while. Taken aback at their act, a large number of BJP youth, who were present at the programme raised counter slogans in support of Telangana. This sloganeering continued until pro-united AP supporters left the party office.
