Visakhapatnam: The Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika will hold an all-party meeting in Hyderabad either on Monday or Tuesday, after consulting the MIM and the YSRCP, to find a solution to the State’s turmoil and to seek all MLAs’ support for a just cause of keeping it united.

This was stated here on Sunday at a crowded press conference by president of the vedika and AP NGOs’ Association Parachuri Ashok Babu. He said the vedika planned to lay siege to the Assembly when the bifurcation bill is tabled.

He urged all parties to voluntarily take part in the people’s agitation, without limiting themselves to mere statements. ‘By now, a majority of parties have clearly stated that no ‘ whip’ would be issued for the Assembly voting.

As such, legislators could act on their own in favour of a unified Andhra’, he pointed out. Ashok Babu wondered when pro-Telangana leaders too were opposing some contents of the Telangana Bill, how would the Centre go ahead with the bifurcation move. He warned if the T-Bill was tabled in the winter session of Parliament members of the vedika and NGOs would mount pressure on the Centre by blocking the national highways, holding ‘rail roko’ demonstrations, forcing closure of banks, Central offices and stalling power supply. He said a meeting would be held in Hyderabad on Monday of all Seemandhra districts’ JACs of NGOs to chalk out the future course of action. It would be peaceful and without destruction of public property. Photographs of all AICC main leaders who played a key role in the State’s bifurcation issue and of MPs who have not resigned would be burnt in all districts on December 9, when a ‘black day’ would be observed.Ashok Babu wanted all 19 Seemandhra MPs to immediately meet the President and withdraw support to the UPA Government, as ‘injustice’ was done to the region in the T-Bill. If they failed to do so the Seemandhra people would not excuse the MPs; there would be no future for them. He appealed to all MPs and MLAs to join the agitation. Asked to comment on the BJP’s support for a separate State even though it was gaining power in four States, he replied it was the BJP’s look-out to review its stand, before supporting the cause.
