Hyderabad: The winter session of the State Legislative Assembly appears to be in for many drastic political developments.

The TDP, which had served notice to Lok Sabha Speaker, seeking to move no-confidence motion against the UPA government, is now contemplating a similar move against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. The TDP Seemandhra leaders who met here on Monday discussed the issue with their president Chandrababu Naidu. It was felt at the meeting that if they succeed in pulling down the government with the help of all Seemandhra MLAs, then the President may not refer the Draft T Bill to the state Assembly.

Even if the draft T Bill is sent to the Assembly, the TDP leaders aver that Kiran Kumar Reddy as the care-taker Chief Minister cannot bring it before the House for discussion. This would put stall the Centre’s move to bifurcate the state.

However, it remains to be seen if the Seemandhra Congress and the YSRCP MLAs will support this move or not.

The Congress leaders have been claiming that they have their own game plan to ensure that the T process does not move forward. The CM had himself stated at Vijayawada that he would ensure that the Bill would be defeated in the Assembly and the Parliament as well. The TDP leaders claim that they are in touch with Congress MLAs. They feel that the Congress party leaders will support their move. It may be mentioned here that there are a total of 175 Seemandhra MLAs in the Assembly. Of this, Congress has 98 members excluding Speaker N Manohar, TDP 44 and YSRCP 17. There are 15 vacant seats.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Congress MLAs are seeking legal opinion on what would happen if they send individual notarised affidavits to the President Pranab Mukherjee, Speaker of Lok Sabha and the Chief Justice of Supreme Court, stated that they were opposed to the bifurcation of the state.
