Hyderabad: Protesting against irregular supply of drinking water in peripheral areas, especially in Uppal constituency, BJP general secretary NVSS Prabhaker embarked on a hunger strike at the junction in front of Radhika theatre near ECIL. He demanded that the State government release Rs 15 crore immediately to solve drinking water woes.
Addressing hundreds of party workers and locals including women who extended support to his deeksha, Prabhaker flayed the step-motherly treatment of HMWSSB, the metropolitan water supply and sewerage board. “Officials are not bothered about streamlining the irregular supply of drinking water even though water tariffs were hiked to burden customers,” he said.
