Hyderabad: The activists of Telangana Praja Front (TPF) made it clear that they would not accept a Telangana State with any kind of conditions with respect to common-capital, revenue sharing and special powers to the Governor with respect to law and order control.
TPF held a dharna, at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Monday, demanding an unconditional Telangana. The activists were forcefully arrested when they tried to hold a rally from Baghlingampally to Dharna Chowk.
Former MLC Chukka Ramaiah said that people of Telangana has shown their perseverance and patience all through the 60 years of oppression and injustice. He asked the MLAs, who were trying to lay road blocks to Telangana formation, not to test the patience of Telangana people.
He appreciated the speaker Nadendla Manohar for understanding the circumstances and for performing his duty as the speaker of the house without showing regional bias. He warned the Seemandhra leaders that a social crisis would erupt if they don’t behave responsibly.
HRF president Jeevan Kumar, condemning the MLAs’ actions in the assembly, declared that HRF would launch mass movements against national project status to Polavaram project after the formation of Telangana. He said that giving special powers to the Governor would cause serious repercussions and was unacceptable to the people of Telangana.
He added that HRF, in its fact finding mission, had found out that in the last seven years not even a single case was filed by any individual from Rayalaseema or Andhra region about violence perpetrated by a Telangana individual on them. He rubbished the fears of regional violence breaking out after the State formation.
