HC seeks info on Chittoor water project
HC Seeks info on Chittoor Water Project, Chittoor Drinking Water Supply Project. The Bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar through the Chief Justice told the Advocate General to place the proceedings before the court and adjourned the hearing for a week.
Hyderabad: The PIL Bench of the AP High Court on Wednesday summoned the file from the State government on the Chittoor Drinking Water Supply Project. TRS leader T Harish Rao had moved the High Court questioning the action of the Chief Minister in launching the project as one without Cabinet approval. He contended that there was no Cabinet approval for the scheme as the entire Cabinet was divided on regional lines and there was no possibility of securing approval and funds from either the State Cabinet or the Assembly for the project. Sudarshan Reddy, Advocate General, submitted that the funds were released to the scheme after the approval of the Cabinet.
