Hazare Foundation plans watchdog committees

Hyderabad: Hailing the passage of Lokpal Bill in both houses of Parliament, anti-corruption activists and members of Anna Hazare Foundation - Andhra Pradesh unit (AHFAP) erupted in jubilation and celebrated the occasion by bursting crackers.

At a meeting organised at the Basheerbagh Press on Thursday, members of the unit praised the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare for his tireless works for making Lokpal Bill a reality. They resolved to create awareness about the Bill among the people of Andhra Pradesh, so that it can be made into a law in the State. The members informed that, as suggested by Anna Hazare, ‘watch-dog’ committees would be setup with honest people at village, mandal and district levels, to ensure a corruption-free society. They further stated that they would continue their struggle to achieve 50 per cent reservation for women and for getting back all the black-money stashed in foreign countries by the corrupt Indians.

Ammika Rangaiah Goud, president, AHFAP, Venigella Suneel Kumar Choudhary, general secretary, Uma Maheswara Rao, vice-president and other members of the organisation took part in the meeting.
