Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy alleged that Seemandhra MLAs were making efforts to stop the State bifurcation by stalling the Assembly proceedings and avoiding discussion on draft Bill of Telangana.

A delegation of T Congress ministers and leaders, led by Jana Reddy, called on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Nilayam on Tuesday. Addressing the media after meeting the President, Jana Reedy said that the Telangana people would consider the leaders, who were trying to create hurdles in the path of separate Telangana, as conspirators. Some of the legislators were staging protests in the Assembly as part of the conspiracy to stop the State division, the Minister added. He demanded that the Assembly Speaker should take action against the MLAs, who were stalling the House proceedings, by using his powers and ensure smooth discussion on the draft Bill.

“Assembly session has been postponed to January 3 without valid reasons and efforts are being made not to hold discussion on the Telangana Bill before the due date. There is a possibility of clashes between the people of two regions with this kind of tactics by the Seemandhra leaders,” he stated. Referring to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s stand to stall the bifurcation, Jana Reddy said the Chief Minister was supposed to work under Indian Constitution and Kiran Reddy’s conspiracies would not work before the Central government. “Nobody can stop the Telangana formation at this stage,” he reiterated.
