Nalgonda /Prakasam/Krishna/Kadapa: As many as 20 persons were killed in separate road accidents in Nalgonda, Prakasam, Krishna and Kadapa districts and other places on Wednesday.

Five persons were killed when a speeding DCM van collided with a car at a pipe factory on Bhuvanagiri-Nalgonda road on Wednesday night. Three persons died on the spot and two others died while undergoing treatment at the area hospital later, police said.

Three men died on the spot and two others sustained serious injuries when the car, proceeding to Ongole from Guntur, in which they were travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Santamagulur in Prakasam district in the early hours. The deceased were identified as Anjina Reddy, Srinivas Reddy and Sanjiv Reddy. The injured Prasad and Narsamma were admitted in the Government Area Hospital at Narasaraopet.

In another accident, two youth were killed when their bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Tiruvuru in Krishna district. The victims P Venkata Krishna and his friend B Sivasankaracharya belonged to Rajupeta village.

Two vegetable traders were knocked down by a lorry on the Porumamilla-Maidukur road in the wee hours of Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Narayana and Narsingh Raju, belonged to Vijayawada.

Four persons from Chittoor district died and eight others sustained injuries when the mini-bus in which they were travelling hit a stationary lorry on Teni-Dindigal road in Tamil Nadu. The victims are from Basinikonda village of Madanaplle mandal. The devotees were on their way home from Sabarimala. Two Engineering final year students were killed and another injured when their bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Proddutur in Kadapa district in the early hours.

The victims were identified as Goutam Kumar Reddy (21) and Charan Tej (22. The injured person Pavan Kumar Reddy was admitted in a private hospital. The police registered a case and took up investigation.
