Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has decided to come to the rescue of the 12 minor girls, who were allegedly raped by a tutor in DAWN 132 Hostel, run by Village Reconstruction Organisation, an NGO, in Nalgonda district.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu met the girls at the State Home for Women in Ameerpet and consoled them.

He said the NTR Trust would deposit Rs 25,000 in the name of each victim and would take care of their education.

He assured them that they would be admitted to a school of their choice and the Trust would help them in pursuing higher studies. Condemning the heinous incident, Naidu demanded that the government award severe punishment to the accused. He lamented that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Ministers had failed to understand the gravity of the situation even after the incident came to light. The Chief Minister should have himself called on the girls, he added.

Naidu blamed the government for its failure in the strict implementation of Nirbhaya Act and in protecting women from the increasing atrocities.
