Nativity, instead of population, should form the basis for distribution-Devi Prasad
Hyderabad: The Telangana Employees JAC has appealed to the elected representatives of Telangana, cutting across party lines, to voice their concerns in the State Assembly about the injustice that would be meted out to the region if distribution of employees and pensioners was done on population basis as mentioned in the draft Bill.
Telangana Employees JAC on Wednesday conducted a round-table meeting at TGO Bhavan that was attended by floor leaders, MLAs and key leaders from various parties.
Addressing the meeting, Employees JAC chairman G Deviprasad pointed out that division of the State was entirely different from other States that were formed earlier. Hence, certain issues like distribution of employees should be looked into with different perspective. Nativity, instead of population, should form the basis for distribution, he stressed.
Telangana Udyogula Sangham president C Vittal stated that distribution of employees should not be taken up on population basis because of Presidential order, the six-point formula and other provisions already in use in the State. Meanwhile, TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and TRS floor leader in Assembly Etela Rajender stated that amendments to the draft Bill would be brought to the notice of T MPs so that they could mount pressure in Parliament. Telangana State should have rights and powers similar to other States, they stressed.
Former PCC chief D Srinivas flayed the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his open defiance of the party high command on bifurcation issue. “How can he say that he was not kept in the loop while he himself deposed before the high command and even the core committee many a time on this issue,” he questioned.
Notwithstanding conspiracies of the Chief Minister and other leaders from Chittoor and Kadapa districts, the Telangana Bill would be surely passed in the Parliament in February, Congress MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud observed. In a veiled attack on TRS party, the parliamentarian said that Telangana statehood dream would become a reality soon if Telangana parties set aside their self interests. Telangana TDP leaders Revuri Prakash, Mothkupalli and Errabelli assured government employees of doing everything they could in Assembly to safeguard their interests.
TGO chief V Srinivas Goud presided over the meeting in which employee leaders Krishna Yadav, Mujeeb, Chandrasekhar Goud, Shravan Reddy besides G Rajender Reddy (Advocates JAC) and others took part.
