No action against CM: Diggy, Digvijay Singh, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Rahul Gandhi. He also ruled out any action against Kiran Kumar Reddy on this issue.

He never spoke against high command

New Delhi: The AICC General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, Digvijay Singh, on Saturday defended Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, saying he had never spoken against the Congress High Command.

He also ruled out any action against Kiran Kumar Reddy on this issue.

Singh said, “The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has never spoken against the Congress High Command. So why should we take action against him?” Kiran Reddy had always taken care not to utter a word against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi. On the other hand, he did take a dig at Digvijay Singh, but always took care not to utter any word against the Congress High Command.

There has been wide speculation that the Congress High Command may crack the whip against the Chief Minister for staging a dharna in the capital on the issue of keeping Andhra Pradesh united. Singh said that Kiran Reddy’s dharna was for keeping Andhra Pradesh united. Clearly that does not attract disciplinary action, as the Congress High Command has acknowledged that it is an emotive issue. The Congress High Command also decided not to issue any whip on the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, as it is an emotive issue over which tempers are running high on both sides.

Singh had already made it clear in the past that all leaders were given freedom to express their views on the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, to enable them to freely express their feelings. As such there is no indiscipline involved in it.
