Kurnool: Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy said that the unruly incidents in Parliament on Thursday had disgraced the entire nation and warned that the Congress party would be totally wiped out in the ensuing general elections. The way the State Reorganization Bill was sought to be introduced in Parliament was highly disgraceful, he said.

Speaking to the media at the Congress Party office here on Friday, Suryaprakash Reddy wondered why the UPA government was in such a haste to introduce the Telangana Bill and get it passed. He dared Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath to display the visuals and the proceedings in Parliament to expose the real culprits. He said that the people in the country were disgusted with the Congress.

The Union Minister stoutly defended Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for using pepper spray in Parliament and said that he used it only for self-defence against attacks. He said Rajagopal wanted to protect M Venugopal Reddy who was being attacked by the Telangana MPs. There was no knife in Venugopal Reddy’s hand and it was only a mike, he said.

Suryaprakash Reddy alleged that the Congress Party entered into a secret deal with TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao. He said that people of Kurnool and his supporters would not forgive him if he remained in the Congress which was hell bent on dividing the state.

Even the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition do not know whether the Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha or not. He lashed out at the Prime Minister for inviting the Oppostion leaders for dinner and lunch to get the Bill passed clandestinely and expressed the hope that the BJP would not get the Bill passed in its present form.
