Hyderabad: Seemandhra leaders appear to be deserting the team led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy even before he announces launching a new political party.
Of the 21 ministers from Seemandhra region Kiran is likely to be left with a handful of them as majority are now looking towards either the TDP or the YSRCP. This has made Kiran to have second thoughts on floating a new party. He is likely to announce his strategy at a media conference at 10.45 am on Wednesday.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Erasu Pratap Reddy and TG Venkatesh are now leaning towards the TDP. Erasu has made it clear that they are being invited by other parties such as TDP and YSRC. They said they would take a final decision after consulting their cadre. “What matters now is to have a cadre that can make us win and they will decide which party we should join or if we should contest as indepent candidates,” Erasu said. The only minister who has so far decided to go with Kiran is Pithani Satyanaryana.
As the developments started unfolding on Tuesday in Delhi, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana held consultations with his Delhi bosses and along with other loyalists of the Congress such as Kanna Lakshminarayana, C Ramachandraiah and N Raghuveera Reddy contacted Seemandhra MLAs over to convince them not to join Kiran's proposed party.
Sources say that Botcha Satyanarayana, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao, Kondru Murali Mohan, N Raghuveera Reddy, C Ramachandraiah and Vatti Vasant Kumar will not quit Congress party.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao, TG Venkatesh, Erasu Pratap Reddy, J C Diwakar Reddy, Thota Narasimham, Galla Aruna Kumari P Bala Raju, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, K Parthasarathi, Gade Venkat Reddy, M Maheedhar Reddy, S Vijayarama Raju, Syed Mohammed Ahamdullah are looking for greener pastures and may join TDP or YSRCP. Another Seemandhra leader S Sailjanath may contest as an independent.
