HC stays cancellation of land to Lepakshi, Justice Nooty Rammohana Rao, Lepakshi Knowledge Hub. Earlier, the government in February 2009 alienated about 10,000 acres in Anantapuram district for establishment of Knowledge Park.

Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Rammohana Rao of the AP High Court on Monday took on file a writ petition filed by Lepakshi Knowledge Hub Private Limited, questioning the cancellation of the memorandum of agreement made between the petitioner and the government in December 2008 and withdrawing the concessions granted by its order on February 13.

Earlier, the government in February 2009 alienated about 10,000 acres in Anantapuram district for establishment of Knowledge Park. But, by its present order, the government withdrew the various concessions granted earlier. The petitioner questioned the same as being arbitrary, illegal, and offending Article 14 of the Constitution, constituting an unreasonable restriction on the fundamental right of the petitioners under Article 19 (1)(g) of the Constitution, as being vitiated by non-application of mind into relevant facts. The judge made it clear the industrial activity at the Park may go on and they shall not be interfered with pending further orders in the writ petition.
