State’s future secure only with TDP: Naidu, N Chandrababu Naidu, Praja Garjana meeting. He expressed confidence that the Telugu Desam would emerge as an unrivalled party both in Telangana and Seemandhra.

  • Seeks mandate in both regions
  • Launches poll campaign
  • Says KCR and Jagan will join Congress

Nellore: Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday assured the Seemandhra people that the State’s future would be secure if they voted the party back to power. He said that the TDP would be rock-solid behind them and work for their overall welfare.

Naidu was addressing a massive ‘Praja Garjana’ meeting at VRC College grounds, which also marked the launch of TDP campaign for the general elections, a few hours after the Election Commission had announced the poll schedule for the ensuing general elections

He expressed confidence that the Telugu Desam would emerge as an unrivalled party both in Telangana and Seemandhra. Development of the Seemandhra and reconstruction of Telangana would be possible only with the backing of TDP.

While pledging to work for betterment of the future generation, he wanted people’s mandate for going about their developmental agenda. At the same time Naidu urged them to ensure the party’s victory not only in both regions but to also help it emerge as the king-maker in New Delhi.

He defended admission of Congress men into the party, saying that only good persons were being allowed to join. The TDP would come to the rescue of activists and not the family members of those joining the party. He accused Union Minister Jairam Ramesh of playing with the lives of Telugus.

Naidu alleged that the Congress was conspiring to come to power in Seemandhra, with the ‘support of the adopted son Jagan’. He said the Congress’ hired son K Chandrasekhar Rao had let down the ruling party in Telangana. Naidu predicted that after the elections Jagan would follow KCR into the Congress fold

He lashed out at Jagan for ‘swallowing public property’, while referring to the seizure of his properties by the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday.

The TDP chief blamed the ruling party for harming the interests of Telugu people while dividing the State. He wondered how KCR had taken out a victory rally on returning to Hyderabad after earlier claiming that he was unaware of the CWC decision on Telangana.

Legislators Adala Prabhakar Reddy and M Sridharkrishna Reddy, along with many Congress leaders and activists, joined the Telugu Desam in the presence of Naidu. TDP MP, Konakalla Narayana was present.

Naidu was earlier given a grand reception at Renigunta on arrival by air.
