Vijayawada: Early on Thursday, a gigantic fire accident happened at Gemini Edibles and Fats located in the outskirts of Gollapudi near Vijayawada. As the stored oils were huge in quantity, the intensity of fire has been immense. As many as five fire tenders arrived at the spot to put off the fire. The fire rescue team has struggled for more than 5 hours to control the fire.
The ground floor of the building has been utilized as the go down to store the stock, while three families reside on the first storey of the building. The dwellers of the edifice have somehow escaped from the building.
It is suspected that the mishap might have been caused due to the electric short circuit. The estimated loss in the fire accident is about Rs 1Cr, according to the preliminary estimations by the authorities.
