Liquor worth Rs 7L seized. Early on Friday, the Excise Officials have carried out the spur-of-the-moment checks in view of the ongoing election code in the state.

Hyderabad: Early on Friday, the Excise Officials have carried out the spur-of-the-moment checks in view of the ongoing election code in the state. In an incident, the police have found illegal possession of liquor from a vehicle coming from Karnataka on its way to Mahabubnagar district. The liquor is estimated worth for Rs 7L, added sources. The liquor has been seized apart from detaining the accused. A case has been booked and investigations are on.
Early this week Banwar Lal, the Chief Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, said that so far they have seized Rs 108cr during their checking carried out in view of the looming elections. He addressed the media and said that they have also seized 69.5kg gold, 300kg silver apart from 4.10L litres liquor. Further, so many incidents of liquor, cash and jewellery have been registered in this week.
