He was not doing well for quite sometime and died early on Friday. The dead body has been kept his residence at Somajiguda in Hyderabad. By now, Pallam Raju, Ponnala Laskshmaiah, Mysorra Reddy have visited their residence and expressed their deep condolence.

Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy was born on 20 February 1935 was a member of the 12th, 13th and 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency of Andhra Pradesh and was a member of the Indian National Congress. He was also a Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1990 to 1992. His wife, Nedurumalli Rajyalakshmi, has been a minister in the Andhra Pradesh government since 2004.

In September 2007, Nedurumalli escaped an assassination attempt near Nellore by naxal groups. Janardhana Reddy and his wife both escaped the event unhurt.
