Hyderabad:
One more body has been recovered from the river Beas on Tuesday according to Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister GS Bali. The body has been identified as that of Devesh Bose – a native of Hyderabad. His father has identified the body and has been brought to Hyderabad on Tuesday night. The body of Devesh was found on a rock at about 9.30 pm on Monday and was about 0.5 km from the site of tragedy. Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced Rs 1.5 lakh ex-gratia to each of the victim’s family and also suspended three employees of the Larji Power station holding them responsible for the tragedy. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each.

Though the search operations had been continuing for the missing students, the NDRF teams were facing severe problem as the Larji power project had been releasing water into the river after generating power. According to officials they cannot hold the water in the reservoir as it will result in inundation of several villages. The Himachal Pradesh High Court , meanwhile, considered the case of the tragic incident as suo motu and ordered the state government to submit a consolidated report by June 16. Telangana home minister Naini Narsimha Reddy who has been camping there held talks with the Himachal government and is monitoring the search operations. Chandrababu Naidu also called up Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Veerabhadra Singh and asked him to speed up the search operations.
