Vizag Residents Stranded in Iraq. As many as 16 from the district are said to be stranded in Iraq which is going through a crisis and civil war.
Visakhapatnam: As many as 16 from the district are said to be stranded in Iraq which is going through a crisis and civil war.
According to official figures, nine from Elamanchili, five from city and one each from Anakapalle and Kasimkota were caught in the crossfire of Iraq war.

However, some of them managed to reach up to Delhi and efforts are on to bring them home. These persons had gone to Iraq in search of greener pastures and are employed with some industries and firms. But with the breakout of the civil war, the companies and offices were closed and they are left without livelihood. It is said they had been finding it difficult to get even food and water. Under such circumstances, they sent an SOS to the Indian Government which in turn wrote
to the states and districts seeking a list of those working in Iraq.
