Telangana mints at Andhra Pradesh cost

Hyderabad: The state bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh has also decided to keep Hyderabad as the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state for as many as 10 yrs. This has certainly profited Telangana from one side. In a day, at an average as many as 500 buses reach Hyderabad from Andhra Pradesh. The visitors come to Hyderabad for various purposes such as meeting the ministers and officials et al. The work for which they have come may not get finished in a day or so. For this they have to stay in a hotel room till their work gets completed. Also, the Andhra Pradesh state government employees who reside in Hyderabad are being paid 30%of the basic pay towards HRA. Otherwise it is 20% in rest all cities.

Various taxes paid by the visitors and the employees of Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad accounts to a huge sum to the state exchequer thereby benefitting the Telangana state. This amounts to 300-400cr every month. It could have been otherwise gone to Andhra Pradesh, if the capital might have been there in Andhra Pradesh itself.
