The chief minister, who was on two days tour of the district, said that the State would be developed better than the USA and Singapore. Expressing dissatisfaction over the prolonged stay at Hyderabad, he said that he wanted to leave the city as early as possible.
Referring to the development activities in the district, he said that solar park and wind energy would be established to overcome power shortage. An IIT and AIIMS-like institute would be established in the district, he added.
“A commissionerate would be established for groundnut research in the district,” he said.
He said that the government was ready to provide hundred per cent drip irrigation and sprinklers to the district for better water management.
He said that out of the 32 tmc share of water from Tungabhadra, the district was receiving only 20 tmc. Discussions would be held with Karnataka government to get additional water released.
Addressing party workers at Kadiri, the chief minister said that the party would help the families of the party workers who lost their lives for the party. When a group of unemployed youth staged demonstration, he said that they would not get employment if they hold demonstrations.
Later, at Kutagallu, the chief minister inaugurating ‘Badi Pilustondi’ programme, said that the government would take up the responsibility of orphaned children. “Cycles and I-pads will be given to the students of Government schools,” he added.
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao addressing the meeting said that the AP students in Hyderabad were facing problems due to the attitude of Telangana government. “A study team will leave for Tamil Nadu to study the policy being implemented there for the engineering students,” the Minister said.
