Earlier today, Mohan created a flutter in the Lok Sabha after he asked women to dress in a dignified manner.

Mohan also said that by doing so the women would be preserving the traditions and culture of our country.

The statement triggered protests in the Lower House from women MPs, one of whom said that the minister should be asked to leave the House.

"His statement asking women to wear dignified dresses is shocking and shameful. Why doesn't he let the men know how to behave with women?

He executed his narrow thinking. It is duty of government to provide safety of women," said Congress Shobha Oza.

Earlier, Goa Public Works Department Minister Sudhin Dhavalikar said that bikinis should be banned on Goa's public beaches generating a similar controversy.
