Chodavaram (Visakhapatnam): Taking umbrage at the taunt by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s comments on him, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said he would certainly compete with him in developing the State and there was no doubt in it as there were no one to match him. “Do not provoke Telugu people which is much easier than dividing the State. You need not take the burden of AP students’ education and I can do it on my own. The TDP is committed to developing both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” he told KCR. Addressing a mammoth gathering of farmers at the launch of ‘Polam Pilusthondi’ programme here on Friday to mark the occasion of completion of two months after assuming charge as the Chief Minister, Naidu announced that a five-year action plan had been chalked out to link all reservoirs in the State to quench the thirst of all interior villages , towns and cities by laying pipelines. This is in response to the representations he received during his ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’ padayatra taken up before the general elections.

He made it clear that the TDP government aimed at making the agriculture as the most profit-making profession. “I love Visakhapatnam district very much and the entire north coastal Andhra is famous for calm-going people and it has been the bastion of the Telugu Desam Party since beginning. Hence, I will reciprocate my love and affection in developing the three districts,” he said.

The Chief Minister alleged that the previous Congress government had ruined the State in its 10-year ruling and that his government already released six white papers on the state of affairs in various sectors so far, and another paper would be released shortly. Stating that he was pinning high hopes on the NDA Government at the Centre, he said the entire electorate had voted both the BJP and the TDP to power by burying the 125-year-old Congress party which even lost the Opposition status in the State and Parliament.

Naidu further pointed out that he would not only develop five to six Hyderabad-like mega cities in AP but also make Vizag city as Mumbai. On the loan-waiver of farm loans and DWCRA Group loans, he informed that farm loans to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh to each group would be waived and there is no compromise in it. Though, the Committee appointed to study the feasibility of the waiver of loans suggested to waive only Rs 1 lakh in the case of farm loans, the TDP government increased it to Rs 1.5 lakh. After completion of the Polavaram Project, there would be no water scarcity for all villages, towns and also Vizag city in the district.
