Arrangements in full swing for Dasara celebrations

Vijayawada: The district machinery is gearing up to make necessary arrangements for Dasara celebrations which would be celebrated in a grand manner in the new state. The officials want to make it a big success. The officials, who faced sharp criticism last time, do not want the same things are repeated this time. They are taking utmost care right from the ‘Bathing Ghats’ to distribution of prasadams.

Devotees believe that Goddess Kanaka Durga will solve their problems. They come from far off places to have darshan of ‘Durga Mata’ during the Dasara. Not only from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, devotees from other states also flood during the nine days of Dasara celebrations. The authorities said everything was in place for the celebrations that would commence from 25th of next month to October 3rd. Last time, the number of visitors was less due to ‘United Andhra’ agitation. But this time the number may be higher, one of the officials felt. Keeping this in mind, all the departments concerned are working in coordination. Sub Collector Hari Chandana is reviewing the situation from time to time with the police officers.
