The new Vasthrams will be adorned to the deity on the Garudaseva of Lord.

Chief Minister carrying the new silk vasthram on a silver plate, on his head went in a procession to the accompaniment of traditional music from Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple to the shrine of Lord Venkateswara where he offered the new Vasthram to God.

A host of officials and non officials including Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh his spouse, Endowment minister Manikya Rao, TTD specified authority chairman JC Sharma, executive officer MG Gopal and others were present.

Later, Naidu offered prayers to God Venkateswara along with his entourage. The temple priests honoured him with Sesha Vasthram and offered him Theertham and Satari.

After chief minister offering prayers, the temple priests rendered Asirvachanam to Naidu at Rnganayaka mantapam, blessing him and his family. TTD specified authority chairman JC Sharma presented him Swamy vari Prasadamas.

Brahmotsavam takes off on a colorful note
The nine-day Brahmotsavam of the famous temple of God Venkateswara at Tirumala got off on a colorful note with hoisting of the celestial flag (Dwajam) in the shrine, on Friday. TTD Agama advisor Sundaravadana Bhattar along with chief priest Ramana Deekshithulu and others hoisted the Dwajam carrying the Garuda image atop Dwajasthambham, amidst chanting of Scriptures by pundits adding more to the religious ambience in the temple.

The thirty minute brief ceremony with devotion conducted at the anointed auspicious Meena lagnam between 5.36 and 6.00 pm in the presence of host of officials of TTD and other departments followed by chanting of slokas from Garuda Gadyam and Garuda Lagnashtakam by Vedic students and pundits, eulogizing Garud, the celestial carrier of Maha Vishnu who occupy unique place in Vaishnavism as `Peria Thiruvadi’.

As part of the nine day utsavam, which began today, the processional deity Lord Malyapaa would be taken in a procession atop various vahanas on the Mada streets around the temple daily in the morning and evening during the Brahmotsavam.
