Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday appealed to people not to panic by Hudhud cyclone which is likely to have landfall near Visakhapatnam on Sunday as the government was fully geared up to meet the challenge and contain the damage that may be caused by the super cyclone in the four districts of Coastal Andhra.

Addressing the media at Lake View guest house, he said that rescue teams have already been deployed in all villages which may be affected by the cyclone and people are being shifted to safer places before the rains wreak havoc. “We are prepared well in advance to face the cyclone and mitigate the damage,” the Chief Minister said.

Urging people to alert the government machinery about any untoward incident reported in their areas by sending images through mobile to the concerned authorities, Naidu said the remote sensing agency was also monitoring the ground situation through satellite images from time to time in the next 48 hours.
