Eluru: A doctor of R R Pet in the town, Tulasirani, on Sunday launched a protest in front of a private hospital, alleging that her husband, Dr Lakshminarayana, had been harassing her for six years demanding additional dowry, after she gave birth to a girl. She charged her husband of having an illicit affair with a woman.
Speaking to the media, she accused him of holding out threats to kill, if she failed to secure dowry. The couple was married in 2007. Tulasirani said she had tolerated the harassment for years. But his intimacy with a woman was unbearable, more so when he planned to marry her.
The gusty doctor pledged to continue her struggle till securing justice, as she was determined to live with her husband.
