Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday promised to announce a financial package under drought relief scheme to Chittoor district. The package would be similar to the aid provided for Anantapur district, he said.

Participating in the “Polam Pilusthondi” programme held at Angallu near Madanapalli, 135 km from here, Naidu said the government would take up development of dairy in a big way to generate income for the farmers.

Accordingly `Pasuposhana Sibhiram’ (camps for nurturing milch animals) would be set up in every village in the district as pilot project. The proposed centres would have all the facilities. He said the government had earmarked 50 acres of land for fodder development, he explained.

Naidu also declared that the long pending Handri-Niva project would be completed within a year for development of irrigation in Madanapalli division. Reiterating his commitment to make agriculture viable for the farmers, he said field-level assistance would be provided to them by linking with scientists.

Earlier, Naidu took part in `Badi Pilusthondi’ programme in Tamaballapalli constituency immediately after his arrival.
He said that government was determinate to eradicate poverty by 2029 and added that the mission mode development was aimed to achieve this mammoth task.

Stating that the government would take the responsibility of providing good education to every child, he said he would also ensure that the youth secure jobs. He said the government had decided to convert all the social welfare hostels as residential schools. Later, Naidu also interacted with students.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the exhibition set up as part of Badi pilusthondi and Polam Pilusthondi programmes. He also declared open a super specialty medical camp organised under NTR Arogya Seva and also a medical exhibition set up by various hospital including SVIMS, Sri Sai Sudha Hospitals and other hospital based in Tirupati.

Later Naidu , while participating in the Janmabhumi-Manvuru programme, announced Rs 50 crore aid for development of roads and a degree college as part of development of Tamaballapalli constituency, one of the most backward in the district. He also said the government would build a ring road from Kuppam to Bengaluru via Anantapur. The government would also take steps for setting up pharmaceutical companies in Kuppam, Palamaner, Madanapalli, Tamballapalli and Punganur, he said. He added that a seed development programme would also be taken up for the benefit of the farmers of the western part of the district.

A 30-bed hospital would also set up in the mandal town B Kotha kota he added.
