Mr.Naidu said “Apart from two airports and three ports, Tokyo, Japan’s capital city has a population over 1.30crore and in greater Tokyo it is 1.80crore. Our capital city should have a minimum of 20-25lakh population”.
The mega city should have high socio-economic exposure .It cannot be located in a forest area; it has to be vibrant as opposed to the deserted and alienated forest lands.
Mr.Naidu approached Japan and Singapore to help AP in constructing the world class capital. While Japan would provide technical, environmental and urban planning assistance, the master plan will be devised by Singapore.
Mr.Naidu’s request was readily accepted by both the countries.
Japan wants to help the AP government in building the capital city as it provides investment opportunity and also as it gives credit for having partnered in the development of a world class capital, said Mr Naidu.
