2 building workers killed as slab collapses
Two construction workers were killed at Benthipeta village in Laveru mandal of Srikakulam district on Friday morning when the slab of a house of one Bontha Jagannayakulu, under repairs, crashed. The mishap occurred when repair work was being carried out in the top portion of the house.

Batta Adinarayana and Ilakala Rambabu sustained servere injuries in the incident. While Adinarayana succumbed to the injuries on the spot, Rambabu died as he was being moved in an ambulance to hospital here.
He was declared brought dead by doctors as RIMS. Residents of the village were shaken by the two tragic deaths. The victims’ relatives sobbed uncontrollably. It may be recalled that many construction workers of Srikakulam district were killed in roof/wall collapses in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Naidu in the recent past. Now two workers have died in a mishap in the district itself.
