Peddapuram (East Godavari): Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa said that he would strive to develop the villages by providing infrastructure facilities and basic amenities and also try to resolve the problems of people. Addressing a gathering at an awareness camp on roads, buildings and highways here on Tuesday, he said that the state government was trying to fulfill the promises it made during the elections in a phased manner.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the people’s representatives should coordinate with the officials and ensure that the social welfare schemes were implemented successfully. He said that the state government decided to waive 50 % of the loans initially though the government was facing an acute financial crisis with a deficit budget.

The Deputy Chief Minister laid foundation stones for development works worth Rs 2.10 crore and also inaugurated some of them in J Thimmapur village. He said that till now Rs 17 crore was spent to construct national highways in the constituency. He laid the foundation stone for the construction of the BT Road connecting J Thimmapuram and Kattamuru at a cost of Rs 2.4 crore sanctioned by NABARD. He inaugurated a CC Road built at a cost of Rs 4 lakh at the Scheduled Tribes Colony with ST funds and the NTR Sujala Sravanthi building constructed by the funds donated by Yannam Ramanna Chowdary.
